More goodness from the archives… these pieces range from after-hours melancholic slow-burners through to mellow, house-infused workouts with some jazzy improvisations thrown in for good measure.
‘Phat Knacker’ & ‘Bubblegum’ were written with Edward Richardson; these are live jams essentially. With its lush orchestration and deft guitar work, ‘Gutair’ is another winner. ‘Rather Roughly’ and ‘Aimless’ are more beat-driven affairs, whilst ‘Climb It’ includes my stoned musings on the weather conditions during February 2002. ‘Scaling Down’ is, dare I say it, a wonderful jazz-tinged arrangement with a brush kit that’s reminiscent of Angelo Badalamenti’s ‘Twin Peaks’ soundtrack.
The CD version of this album also contains an early incarnation of ‘Fog in Dub’ – an ambient dub monster – watch those bass cabs!
